A new career in the medical field.........I think not!

So, today while getting discharge instructions for Matt's knee, we had a little mis-hap. Everything was fine until the nurse was almost done. Then it hit me. That oh so familiar feeling. I usually only get this feeling when I'm in the hospital getting an IV line put in. I started sweating, getting dizzy, and feeling a bit queezy. I leaned on Matt's bed when the nurse looked at me and asked if I was ok. I said, I think I'm going to pass out. Before I knew it, they were grabbing nurses from the hall, pulled up a chair, sat me down, gave me an ice pack on my neck, cracked open an alcohol pad and had me sniff it, and gave me a can of o.j. Whew. That was crazy. Matt was looking at me like what are you doing? We almost had to have someone else come pick us up from the surgery center. So the moral of the story is......I will NEVER work in the medical profession! Something about smells, sights and sounds that just don't work for me.

Funny things kids say.....

The other day, Logan, Conner, Paige and I were eating the new eggnog shakes from Jack in the box. Conner asked me, "Mom what's that?" I said, "It's ice cream." Conner said, "No, not that, what's that cherry on top?" I say, "It's a cherry." Conner replies, "Oh." He's so funny sometimes!

Another Disney trip

We just spent another fun weekend at Disneyland! We had to get one more trip in before our passes expire. Of course I forgot to use my camera, but I did get a couple of shots. We found a new fun campground to stay at about 20 from Disneyland. It's a little far if you're only going for an overnight trip, but we like to try out new spots. I didn't get a picture of it though. :(

Project time

So, I decided I am a very boring person and I have no talent. I figured since I am not creative that I would go on line and find something simple that I could do. Here are a few of the things I came up with in the past couple of weeks.

Conner's day at the fair.

Conner got to go to fair with his class today. He told me all about how they milk the cows and then he wanted to drink like a gallon of milk. It was so funny. They made these shirts especially for the day. It says, "I went walking what did you see?" Then under the drawing it says, "I saw a blue rooster looking at me?" I thought it was funny. I'm sure he came up with the blue rooster part.

First day of school!

It's a week late, but here are the boys on the first day of school. Conner was not too happy about the whole situation, but is better now and says he likes school.

The way we are.

This picture cracks me up. This pretty much sums up a typical vacation. Matt is on the phone "working" and Conner is just being Conner. We were in Disneyland waiting to eat at a b-b-q place. I threw in some pictures of Paige just because.

We bought the boys boogie boards and they had a blast!

Weekend at the beach

Just thought I would share a few pictures from our weekend at Pismo. As always, we had a blast!

Paige's first day in nursery.......or was it?

Well, it was suppose to be her first day in nursery. I was excited all morning. Things are going well. Sacrament meeting is almost over. I look down and Paige is chewing on something. I stick my finger in her mouth to see what it is. It's crayon. Oh no. She starts gagging and I'm trying to get the chewed up mess out as fast as I can. Suddenly, without warning, she throws up. In a state of panic, I grabbed my keys, picked up Paige and hauled out of there as fast as I could. Poor Matt. The look on his face was like, "Well, now what?!" I hope he was able to get it cleaned up. Sorry for the distraction to the whole ward! And I'm sure the smell was not to pleasant either! Ah, a day in my life.

Diva

Well, I think we may have a little diva on our hands. On Sunday I took out the dress that I was going to put on her to wear to church. I asked her if this was the dress she wanted to wear. She said "no". Thinking that it was just a fluke, I pulled out another dress and asked her what dress she wanted to wear. She pointed to the other dress. I guess she really knows what she wants. This morning I had an outfit out to put on her and she said no. I opened her drawer and she pulled out a whole different outfit. I think we are in trouble with this one!

Parker had a birthday!

Parker just turned 11! Where has the time gone? He is such a good boy and is a great helper! We went to Morro Bay for the weekend and then let him choose if he wanted to stay another day or go to Disneyland. He chose Disney. (I may have persuaded him a wee bit). We had lots of fun and made some good memories. We love you Parker!

Piggy Tails

I put pig tails in Paige's hair for the first time. It looked so cute! Unfortunately, she pulls them out. Darn it.

We love Disneyland!

We recently got to go with my parent, brother, and his family to Disneyland. We had a blast! I think we rode every ride there was to ride. Hope they all come back soon so we can do it all over again!

Daddy's helper

Paige loves to be in the garage with her daddy. She point to her pack and play when we go in the garage. So much for having a girly-girl!

Boys will be boys

The boys decided to cook some bacon on the little buddy burner Parker made for Scouts. It took forever, but they had fun.

Arrow of Light

Parker recieved his Arrow of Light last week, so that he could go on the overnight camping trip with the big scouts. He loved it almost as much as his dad!

Dinosaurs

Last week at school, Conner learned about different dinosaurs. Today he came home and found every dinosaur in our house and matched it up with the pictures he made at school. I was so impressed. He got them all right! He really is learning a lot and has made such great progress in the last few months. It was a proud mommy moment that I just had to share.

Paige really enjoyed Easter dinner!

Easter

Spring Break

We went to Disneyland for a day while the kids were out of school. On Friday our passes didn't work, so we went to the Queen Mary. It was really interesting and the boys especially had a good time. They even got to see the Russian Sub that was there.

Conner finally dressed himself for the first time! He has his shirt on in-side-out, but other than that, I thought he did really well.

Just a random shot of Paige. I could not get her to look at me and smile!

Sickies

Well, not much happening around here lately. Conner has been sick since Sunday night. We ended up taking him to the urgent care on Monday night. He has what the doctor discribed as a "raging" ear infection. I think he has strep too. I'm hoping the antibiotics kick in soon. Poor kid. He misses school and I'm sure he's ready to feel normal again.

Ahhhhh!

Why are some days so frustrating? Poor Paige has been really sick for the last two days. All she wants to do is be held and read the same book over and over. She hasn't slept well, therefor, neither have I. Last night I woke up at 1:30 and noticed that Matt wasn't home yet. So I start to panic and decided to text him. After about 15 minutes he finally texted me back and said that his dinner went late and he got a hotel. Would have been nice to know about five hours ago. Then at 5:30 a.m. I realize I hadn't taken the trash out to the curb because I thought Matt would do that when he got home. Got up, put on my shoes and a sweater and took out the trash. By now Paige is crying and awake for the day. Anyway, this morning Conner had a melt down for about thirty minutes because he wanted to eat the cupcakes he was taking to school for breakfast. Try explaining why we don't eat cupcakes for breakfast to a four year old autistic child. I think I may be ready for a nap and it's only 11:30.

Conner's first day of school

Conner started at the Richardson Center this week. One would think that I would be excited about only having one child at home all day, but I wasn't. The house is so quiet and I miss him like crazy when he's gone. I know it's the best place for him to be right now, but I wasn't quite prepared for the big change. He cried yesterday when I dropped him off. That made me feel even worse. I guess it will just take time to get used to it. Isn't he just so sweet!

This is my little laundry helper. She likes to play in the basket and pull all the clothes out. It takes my twice as long to fold because I have to pick it up off of the floor.

We had a combined birthday for Paige and Conner since they are one week apart, and hey, Conner has no idea that it's really not his birthday.

Paige is 1!

Wow! Where did the past year go? I can't believe little Paige is already a year old. Time really does fly.

This is the adorable lady bug cake Cori made for Paige.

Up close shot of Conner's DS cake.

This is the fabulous DS cake my friend Cori mad for Conner. He loved it. He kept telling me, "Mommy, I ate my DS!"

I found this quote and thought it was perfect for the wall in Matt's office. I put it right above the ham radio stuff.

First day in Primary

Conner is now a Sunbeam! His teachers gave him a little bag with his name on it. Inside was a little Book of Mormon. He loves it. He carries it around all the time. He calls it his "Jesus" because I told him that it teaches us about Jesus. He's so sweet!
